How coaching works

The approach

  • A steady, sustainable pace

Calories are set for a rate of loss you can hold for months, so you keep training hard and keep your muscle. Crash diets are not part of the plan.

  • Training that protects muscle

Heavy, well-chosen lifting stays at the heart of your program, because it is the signal that tells your body to keep its muscle while you diet.

  • Protein and steps

Daily protein, calorie and step targets in your app, so the plan does not depend on willpower or memory.

  • Adjusted on trends, not bad mornings

You log your weight and send a weekly check-in. Your coach looks at the weekly average alongside your adherence, sleep, energy, hunger and stress before changing anything.

Questions

How fast will I lose fat?

That depends on where you start, and no honest coach can promise a number. Most people do best losing around 0.5 to 1% of their body weight a week, which is fast enough to stay motivated and slow enough to keep muscle.

Do I have to do lots of cardio?

No. Your plan includes a daily step target and any cardio your coach decides you need. Most of the work comes from your nutrition and your lifting.

What if I stop losing weight?

Stalls are normal, and that is what the weekly check-in is for. Your coach looks at the trend over a few weeks and your adherence, then adjusts calories, steps or training if they need to change.

Do I have to weigh myself every day?

Weighing in most mornings is ideal, but it does not have to be perfect. You log your weight in the app, and it draws a 7-day average next to your daily weigh-ins, so one heavy morning after a salty meal does not look like fat gain. Your coach judges progress on that weekly trend.

How do I keep my muscle while dieting?

By lifting heavy, eating enough protein and losing weight at a steady pace. Lifting stays at the centre of your program, your protein target is in your app, and every workout you log shows what you lifted last time, so you and your coach can see whether your strength is holding.

Can I still eat foods I enjoy?

Yes. Your plan is built on calorie, macro and step targets, not a list of banned foods. When you start, you tell your coach how you eat now, including allergies and any foods you do not eat, and your plan is set up around that.
