How coaching works

The approach

  • A timeline with room to spare

Your prep is planned back from your show date, at a rate of loss that protects muscle, with buffer weeks built in so you are ready early rather than late.

  • Training that keeps your muscle

Heavy, well-chosen lifting stays at the heart of your program. As calories come down, volume is managed so you can keep training hard.

  • Photos every week

Conditioning shows in photos before it shows on the scale. Your check-in has space for front, side and back photos, relaxed and flexed, and your coach compares them side by side.

  • A plan for after the show

Calories come back up in a planned way after the show, so you recover well and move into your next phase with a plan.

Questions

How long before my show should I start?

It depends on how lean you are now. Most natural competitors need 16 to 24 weeks, and starting early is always safer than starting late. Mention your show date when you apply.

Can I do a prep if I have never competed?

Yes, if you have a solid base of training behind you. Every application is read personally, so you will hear whether a prep makes sense for you right now.

What happens after the show?

Coaching can carry on after the show. Calories are brought back up in a planned way, and your coach helps you decide what comes next, whether that is an off-season of building or another show.

How is my prep timeline planned?

It is planned back from your show date. Your rate of loss is set to protect muscle, and buffer weeks are built in so you are ready early rather than late. For a rough idea of how long you need, try the free contest prep calculator on this site.

What does my coach look at each week?

Your check-in: weight, training and nutrition adherence, steps, sleep, energy, hunger, stress, digestion notes, and front, side and back photos, relaxed and flexed. Your weight, steps and adherence are shown next to how they changed since your last check-in, alongside your weight trend, so your coach sees the whole picture before deciding what to change.

Can I message my coach between check-ins?

Yes. You can message your coach in the app at any time and send photos or voice notes, so you do not have to save your questions for your next check-in.
