Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

Last updated 29 October 2026

This policy covers the health information CoachAk collects through the CoachAk website and client app. It is written for the US state laws on consumer health data, including Washington's My Health My Data Act and the similar laws in Nevada and Connecticut, and it applies to every client wherever they live. Everything else is covered by the general Privacy policy.

The short version

  • CoachAk collects health information only to coach you.
  • Inside the app, only you and your coach can see it.
  • CoachAk never sells it and never uses it for advertising.
  • You can get a copy, have it deleted, withdraw your consent and appeal a decision: email coach@akthecoach.com.

Which health information we collect

  • Bloodwork, only if you choose to add it and after you agree on the consent step: blood test results you type in (such as testosterone or hematocrit), the range printed on your lab report, the test date and lab, your notes, and the lab reports (PDF or photo) you upload.
  • Weight and body measurements (waist, hips, chest, arm and thigh).
  • Progress photos.
  • Check-in answers: sleep, energy, hunger, stress, digestion, daily steps, how well you kept to your training and nutrition, how many cardio sessions you did, what you craved, which meal you were hungriest after, and what you write in your check-in.
  • Welcome questionnaire answers: height, starting weight, injuries, pain and medical notes, how you eat, allergies and foods you avoid.
  • Training log: your workouts, how hard they felt, any joint pain and your notes.
  • Form-check videos of you lifting.
  • Habits you track.
  • Messages with your coach, including photos and voice notes, where they reveal something about your health.
  • Application answers: any injuries or health details you mention in your training history when you apply for coaching or in a note when you book a call, and the notes and emails CoachAk writes about your application.
  • What your coach writes about it: your program, nutrition targets, check-in feedback and notes.
  • Payments, if you pay on our website: which plan or one-off you bought (for example a Bloodwork Review), what you paid and when.

Where it comes from

From you, when you fill in the application form, book a call or use the app, and from the notes and feedback your coach writes about it. CoachAk does not get health information about you from anyone else.

Why we collect it and how we use it

Only to coach you: to write and adjust your training and nutrition, to review your check-ins, and to answer your questions. CoachAk is a coach, not a doctor, and nothing in the app diagnoses or treats any condition. Your health information is never sold, never used for advertising, and never used for anything other than your coaching.

Who can see it and who receives it

  • You and your coach. The database itself checks who is asking, so a client can only ever reach their own information. Photos, videos, voice notes and lab reports are kept in private storage and open only through links that expire.
  • The companies that host it for CoachAk: Supabase, which stores the database and the files, and Vercel, which runs the website and the app, so your information passes through it when you use the app.
  • Anthropic, if you use the Ask CoachAk chat on the public site. Anything you type into the Ask CoachAk chat goes to Anthropic so it can write the answer. Anthropic may keep it for a limited time under its own data policy. Please do not type private medical details into the chat.
  • CoachAk's email inbox: if you email health information to coach@akthecoach.com, it is kept in CoachAk's Google Workspace email.
  • Stripe, if you pay on our website. Stripe takes the payment, so it receives what you bought, such as a Bloodwork Review or a plan that includes bloodwork reviews, and keeps payment records for as long as the law requires. It never receives your results or anything else from the app.

The app's emails (sent through Resend) and phone notifications (sent through your phone's or browser's notification service) contain no health information: they say who something is from, what kind of thing it is (for example which exercise a form check is for) and where to tap, never what a message says or any health details. The only exception is an email CoachAk writes to you personally about your application, which is sent word for word.

Each of these companies handles your information only to provide its service to CoachAk. CoachAk only uses companies that commit to protecting it to the same or an equal standard as this policy.

No one else receives your health information: no advertisers and no data brokers. The only exception is if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

  • Your health information is kept while your account exists, including after your coaching ends, so your history is there if you come back. Nothing is deleted automatically when coaching ends: ask us and we will delete it.
  • Applications, with any call booking and the emails CoachAk sent about them: until CoachAk deletes them or you ask us to.
  • Bloodwork is kept until you delete it, which you can do yourself at any time, even after your coaching ends.
  • Form-check videos: after your coach has replied, the app clears out videos whose reply is more than 30 days old each time your coach answers a form check. The written feedback stays.

Your rights

See it and get a copy. Until your coaching ends you can see your check-ins, photos, bloodwork and messages in the app. At any time you can ask for a copy of your health information and a list of who has received it.

Delete it. For bloodwork, use "Delete my bloodwork" at the bottom of the Bloodwork page (or on the page you see once your coaching has ended). It deletes every result and lab report you added. For everything else, email us and we will delete it.

Withdraw consent. "Delete my bloodwork" also withdraws your bloodwork consent. To withdraw consent for the rest of your health information, email us: we will stop collecting it and delete it. Because coaching through the app runs on this information, that also ends coaching through the app.

Correct it. Email us and we will correct anything that is wrong.

How to make a request

Email coach@akthecoach.com, from the email address on your account if you have one, and say what you would like. We may ask you to confirm it is you. It is free.

  • We answer within 45 days.
  • If we need longer, we will tell you why within those 45 days, and take no more than 45 days more.
  • Deletion requests from Nevada residents are completed within 30 days.

If we say no: how to appeal

If we refuse all or part of a request, you can appeal. Reply to our answer, or email coach@akthecoach.com with "Appeal" in the subject line. We will answer your appeal in writing within 45 days and explain our decision. If we still refuse, you can complain to the Attorney General of the state you live in, for example the Washington State Attorney General's Office.

If something goes wrong

If a security breach exposes your health information, we will tell you by email without undue delay, and no later than 30 days after we find out.

Tracking across other websites

Apart from Stripe's fraud checks when you open the payment form (see the privacy policy), no outside company collects information about your activity across other websites through this site, so the site does not change its behaviour for Do Not Track signals.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top changes too. If we make a material change, we will tell clients by email or in the app before it takes effect. We will not collect new kinds of health information, or use your health information in a new way, without asking you first.
