These terms apply when you use the CoachAk website (https://www.akthecoach.com), the CoachAk client app, and when you buy coaching or a gift card from CoachAk. CoachAk is a one-to-one bodybuilding coaching business. “We” and “us” means CoachAk; “you” means you. By using the site or the app, or by paying, you agree to these terms. How we handle your information is explained in the Privacy Policy and the Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
Coaching is not medical care
CoachAk gives training, nutrition and lifestyle coaching. It is not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and your coach is not your doctor. Articles, calculators, the Ask CoachAk chat and the bloodwork tracker are for education only. We never prescribe, supply or give doses of medicines, peptides or performance-enhancing drugs, and we never tell you to start, stop or change a medicine (see the section on performance-enhancing drugs below). If a result or symptom worries you, see a doctor. Check with your doctor before starting a new training or nutrition plan, especially if you have a medical condition, are pregnant or take medication.
Results depend on you: how closely you follow the plan, your health, sleep, stress and many other things. We do not promise any particular result.
Performance-enhancing drugs, peptides and medicines
CoachAk coaches people whatever their history, including people who use or have used performance-enhancing drugs. CoachAk does not prescribe, sell, supply or source any drug, peptide or medicine, does not give doses or cycles, and does not encourage anyone to use them. Do not ask us for doses or cycles, or to help you get any of them: we will say no, and we may end coaching.
Many of these substances are controlled or not approved for human use. Anabolic steroids, for example, are controlled drugs in the US and in many other countries. You are responsible for following the law where you live, and for any medicine being prescribed and overseen by your doctor. If you compete in a drug-tested federation, its rules are your responsibility. Telling us what you take helps us plan your training and nutrition around it; it stays private, as the Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy explains.
Applying and your account
Coaching starts with an application. Places are limited, and we may decline an application without giving a reason. If you are accepted, we create your login and email you a link to activate it. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens in your account. Tell us straight away at coach@akthecoach.com if you think someone else has used it. You must be 18 or over to be a client.
Your plans are released to you phase by phase in the app, not all at once. What you receive is for your own use: please do not share or sell it.
Payments
Prices are shown in US dollars before you pay. Payments are taken by Stripe, in Stripe's own secure payment form; your card details never reach us. A monthly plan renews automatically each month on the same date until you cancel. Some plans have a minimum term (for example a number of weeks), which is shown before you pay; you can cancel once it has ended. In-person sessions and other one-off purchases are paid once. If a payment fails, Stripe tries again and we will be in touch.
We may change our prices. A new price never applies to a month you have already paid for, and we tell existing clients before it applies to them.
Cancelling
You can cancel a monthly plan at any time from the Payment page of your client area on our website (once any minimum term has ended). Cancelling stops the next payment: you keep your coaching until the end of the month you have paid for, and you are not charged again. We may end coaching if these terms are broken, or if we can no longer coach you; if we end it for a reason that is not your fault, we refund the part of the month you have paid for and not had.
In-person sessions
Bought sessions are added to your coaching contract in the app, where you can see what is booked and what is left. A session that goes ahead, a no-show, and a late cancellation each use up one session. A session cancelled in good time does not.
Refunds
Payments are not refunded once made: a month that has started, sessions you have bought and gift cards are not refunded, except where these terms say otherwise or the law requires it. Cancelling stops future payments (see above). If you think you have been charged by mistake, write to coach@akthecoach.com and we will look into it.
Gift cards
- A CoachAk gift card is digital: a code sent by email when it is paid for.
- It never expires.
- It can be used once, on one payment for CoachAk coaching or in-person sessions, by entering the code on the Payment page of your client area on our website. If that payment costs less than the gift card, the rest is not kept.
- It cannot be exchanged for cash or used to buy another gift card.
- The person it is for still applies for coaching like anyone else. If they are not offered a place, the buyer can ask for a refund of the unused gift card at coach@akthecoach.com.
- Treat the code like cash: anyone who has it can use it. We cannot replace a code that has already been used by someone else.
Using the website and the app
Please do not misuse the site or the app: no trying to get into other people's accounts, no sending spam through the forms, and no copying our articles, plans or app to publish or sell. The articles, plans, logos and design belong to CoachAk. You may share links to our articles freely.
We work hard to keep the site and the app running and accurate, but we cannot promise they will always be available or free of mistakes.
Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have by law that cannot be limited. Beyond that, we are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, for injury or illness that comes from ignoring the advice above to check with a doctor, or for problems caused by services outside our control (such as your internet connection, your bank, or a payment or email provider being down). Our total responsibility to you is limited to what you have paid us in the last three months.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we update this page and the date at the top. If a change matters to current clients, we tell them in the app or by email before it applies.
